Spanish Contemporary Art Network

Nace en Nueva York, donde trabajaba su padre, de origen irlandés y estudiaba su madre, española de Jaén. Tras repetidas y breves estancias en Cuernavaca y una larga visita a Brasil se trasladan a España, su lugar de residencia desde entonces.  Se licencia en Historia del Arte y hace un Máster en Direccion de Empresas. Desde 2007 dirige la galería malagueña que lleva su nombre, proyecto que tiene el objetivo de promocionar el arte contemporáneo mediante la difusión de la obra de artistas emergentes, midcareer y consolidados y de incrementar en la zona la oferta comercial de calidad de los más jóvenes, con especial énfasis en los centros de creación de proximidad, contextualizados cronológica y geográficamente en el alcance nacional e internacional, sobre todo del ámbito europeo y americano, en el que centra su actividad en lo que a ferias se refiere. Sostiene así un proyecto internacional con vocación de actuar como plataforma para el debate sobre las nuevas estrategias de representación y las diversas manifestaciones contemporáneas, defendiendo un programa plural que da cabida a todos los formatos y tendencias en un contexto multicultural encaminado al fomento del coleccionismo; en este sentido, prepara unos ciclos con la participación de  destacadas figuras en lo privado, corporativo y  particular. Por otra parte, para afrontar la insoslayable tarea de acercamiento de la plástica actual a los más jóvenes, la galería ofrece programas para diferentes perfiles, colaborando con centros docentes de todas las etapas formativas mediante visitas guiadas adaptadas al ciclo, charlas in situ,ofertas de prácticas y de colaboración en los catálogos.

Born in New York, where her Irish born father and her mother from Jaen where working and studying respectively. After repeated short stays in Cuernavaca and a long visit to Brazil, Isabel moves to Spain where she establishes her place of residence. She graduated in Art History and completes a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA). Since 2007, she runs an art gallery bearing her name in Malaga, a project that aims to promote contemporary art through the dissemination of the work of emerging, midcareer and established artists and to facilitate the introduction of the talented younger artist to the art market, lacing special emphasis on the creating centers of the south of Spain region. She focus her efforts in contextualizing the work of these artists ( geographically and chronologically) and making them present in national and international art fairs, particularly in United states and Europe.

Isabel Hurley Gallery’s project ins international and has the vocation to act as a platform for discussion on new strategies of representation and various contemporary manifestations, advocating a plural program that accommodates all formats and trends in a multicultural context.

She is a big advocate and promoter of collecting; her gallery organizes lecture and seminars on the subject with the participation of leading figures in the private, corporate and personal sector. Moreover, to cope with the unavoidable task of approaching and education the current younger generation, the gallery offers programs for different profiles, working with schools of all formative stages through guided tours adapted to their age, talks in situ, workshops and collaboration in the printed catalogues.
