Daniel Jacoby

(Lima, 1985)

Daniel Jacoby (Lima, 1985) se licenció en bellas artes por la Universitat de Barcelona y continuó sus estudios en la Städelschule de Frankfurt, bajo la tutoría de Simon Starling y Peter Fischli.

 

Entre sus exposiciones recientes destacan las de Banff Centre (Alberta), Kunsthal Chalottenborg (Copenhague), Galerie Antoine Levi, (individual, París), Galería Maisterravalbuena (individual, Madrid), Palais de Tokyo (París), Kunstverein Harburger Bahnhof (Hamburgo), SESC Videobrasil (Sao Paulo), 1646 (individual, La Haya), Trafó (Budapest) y la XI Bienal de Cuenca (Ecuador). Daniel ha hecho residencias en Tenjinyama (Sapporo), Sasso (Ticino), Casino Luxembourg (Luxemburgo), ARE (Enschede), y Tokyo Wonder Site (Tokio).

 

Ha recibido numerosos premios y becas en España, además del Premi GAC a la mejor exposición del año 2011 en una galería. También ha publicado libros con editoriales como Mousse Publishing (Milán), Save As… Publications (Barcelona) y Cru (Barcelona), y es coeditor de la plataforma para escritos de artista Texto.

Daniel Jacoby (Lima, 1985) graduated from the University of Barcelona and furthered his studies at the Städelschule in Frankfurt, where he studied under Simon Starling and Peter Fischli.

 

Recent exhibitions include those taking place at The Banff Centre (Alberta), Kunsthal Chalottenborg (Copenhagen), Galerie Antoine Levi (solo, Paris), Galería Maisterravalbuena (solo, Madrid), Palais de Tokyo (Paris), Kunstverein Harburger Bahnhof (Hamburg), Plataforma Revolver (Lisbon), SESC Videobrasil (Sao Paulo), 1646 (solo, The Hague), Trafó (Budapest), S1 Artspace (Sheffield), and the 11th Cuenca Biennial (Ecuador). He has been the recipient of several prizes and grants in Spain, as well as awarded the Premi GAC to the best exhibition of the year 2011 in a gallery.
