Almudena Lobera

Obra/Works

Su práctica artística explora las formas en que configuramos la experiencia visual así como las diferentes naturalezas inmateriales de la imagen a un nivel sensible y filosófico; cuestionando la herencia del pasado para explorar las cualidades efímeras y virtuales de nuestra época; intercediendo entre la realidad y la ficción; considerando el espacio y el espectador como elementos activadores; y alterando las lógicas de lectura, percepción y representación establecidas.

 

Después de haber estudiado Bellas Artes en la Universidad Complutense de Madrid (2002-07) y en la UdK Berlín (2007-09), realizó un Máster en Arte, Creación e Investigación en la UCM (2010-11) y ha sido residente en HISK, en Gante, Bélgica (2015-16). Realizó residencias artísticas en la UCL Slade, Londres (2010), FAAP de Sao Paulo (2011), Casa de Velázquez-Academia de Francia en Madrid (2013), Fundación B.a.d, Rotterdam (2013), Real Academia de España en Roma (2014 -15) y Les Récollets, París (2015).

 

Su trabajo ha sido expuesto en Duivelsteen, Gante (2016), BOZAR, Bruselas (2016), CCI Fabrika, Moscú (2015), Bronx Museum of the Arts, Nueva York (2014), Fabra i Coats, Barcelona (2014), B.a.d Foundation Rotterdam (2013), Matadero, Madrid (2012), Pivô, São Paulo (2012), Mole Vanvitelliana, Ancona, Italia (2012), La Casa Encendida, Madrid (2012), Tabacalera, Madrid (2011), Galería Vermelho. Ha sido premiada con las becas de la Real Academia de España en Roma 2014 y Les Récollets París 2015 para residencias internacionales y ha recibido varios premios como: Generación 2012 de Caja Madrid; Circuitos 2011, Madrid; Premio INJUVE Proyectos de 2011, la beca FIBArt 2011, Del Plano al Cubo CCE_México, la ayuda a la producción en Artes Visuales 2012 de la Comunidad de Madrid, y el Premio ABC 2013.

Her artistic practice explores the ways in which we configure the visual experience and the different immaterial natures of the image at a sensitive and philosophical level; regarding the legacy of the past to explore the ephemeral and virtual image qualities in our era; interceding between reality and fiction; considering the space and the viewer as activating elements; and altering the established logic of reading, perception and representation.

 

Having studied Fine Arts at the Complutense University of Madrid (2002-07) and UdK Berlin (2007-09), she obtained an MA Fine Art at UCM (2010-11) and she is a former resident at the HISK, High Institute for Fine Arts in Ghent, Belgium (2015-16). She did artistic residences at the UCL Slade, London (2010), FAAP São Paulo (2011), Casa de Velázquez-Academy of France in Madrid (2013), Foundation B.a.d, Rotterdam (2013), Real Academia de España en Roma (2014-15) and Les Récollets, Paris (2015).

She has been awarded by The Royal Academy of Spain in Rome grant 2014 and The Récollets grant Paris 2015 for international residences and has received the several prizes such as: Generation 2012 Award from Caja Madrid; Circuits 2011, Madrid; the INJUVE Projects Award 2011, the FIBArt 2011 grant, the Del Plano al Cubo Award CCE_México, the Aid for Production in Visual Arts 2012 Com. Madrid, and the ABC Award 2013.
